Keep Calm....

Kids are finally back to school and I am still running around like a decapitated chicken restocking and rearranging my two booths.  Most of my larger pieces of furniture sold out of one booth while I was on vacation and most of the gits/accessories sold out of the other booth.  This is always the fun part.. making something out of nothing.. as in new merchandise is coming this month but I have to make the booths spectacular in the meantime with my current inventory (which isn't much).  Oh let the magic begin!!

coming soon.. I love this Union Jack Boat.  Even though I am doing more vivid colors for the Fall, I must keep a little Nautical in the booth.  Keeps me sane!

Barcelona 2011.. part 1

We are back!!  Gosh it so good to be home.. energized, inspired and ready to get back to work!!

It is because of these little angels (and the rest of the family too) that we go to Europe.  We think it is important for them to have a strong relationship even though we are oceans apart.. here we have my nephew Mathis (8) with my son Brice (9) and then my niece Romaina (12) with my daughter Olivia (also 12).  They got along extremely well even with the language barrier but I have to give extra credit to my daughter for actually trying her hand at French.  She impressed the whole family and made some great improvement with her language skills.  Bisous Olivia!!

We spent 4 days in Barcelona and boy it was not enough time!!  We crammed all that we could though starting with the Park Guell which was created by Antoni Gaudi between 1900-1914.  This crazy park is like a mosaic mecca with everything from roofs, ceilings, benches, windows, chimneys, stairs, and fountains covered in small little tiles.

 And if that wasn't enough color for the day, our next trip was to the St. Josep Boqueria.. outdoor marketplace.

Yep, I nearly gained 10 lbs just looking at all the yummy foods.  Walking through the streets of Barcelona we were constantly entertained by the Street Performers.  The kids were hesitant at first so it was up to me to step right up to the winged creature to get my photo taken... as you can see we shared a moment!!

Home Sweet Home

We are finally home after 20 days of sun filled adventures in Southern Europe.  Pictures to come very soon, I promise!!  Stopped by the store to drop off a sweet souvenir to Sally (say that 3x fast) and saw many empty holes in my booth.  Luckily I came home to 6 boxes of gorgeous new merchandise to bring up to my Gillyweed space ASAP.

     I also had to reorder more leather cuffs and sentiments.. boy you guys are loving these unique bracelets.  The one above exemplifies our recent trip.. Life is either a great adventure or nothing!  All lovingly made in the United States too!  And look at the new cuff colors....

We are off.. spending the month of July with family in the South of France.  No doubt I will have some great photos and fun stories to share when I get back.

Lemoncholie

As some of you know I started out with the business name Lemoncholie which I loved loved loved.. but I discovered a jewelry designer who named her business Lemoncholie and even though she lived up north, I didn't want to ruffle any feathers.  So I went with my 2nd choice, which I have grown to love, Gillyweed.  But Lemoncholie always remains with me and I will eventually name our beach bungalow this quirky name!  In the meantime I've gotten to the sewing machine and created some adorable new items for Gillyweed which will sport a Lemoncholie label.. what do you think?

My seashell lamp got a new face lift.. a custom made shade with quirky fish swimming on it.  Still priced at $125, it is a steal.

especially after seeing Pottery Barn's version which runs between $169-$199.

And finally a too stinking cute feather stuffed pillow made from an antique European grain sack and fabric remnants, $55.  I've always wanted to start a pillow line after seeing similar pillows at the mart

 

with a $125 and up retail price tag.  Not for me.. and not for you!  Both pieces are going to the Gillyweed booth located inside The Vintage-Flea, Newnan.

In two weeks I will be officially on my vacation trip to Europe visiting relatives and couldn't be more excited.  So I was also really happy to get in my order from Inventive Travelware before leaving!  These bag tags are ridiculously cute (and funny).
