Encaustic Painting is a process that I picked up about 4 years ago and have been hooked on it ever since. Layers upon layers of wax are melted onto a blank birchwood canvas.. each layer is fused together using a heating tool such as a blowtorch. Then the artist has the ability to carve into the wax and to scrape away layers to reveal the beauty underneath. Here are of some of my past pieces...
